Printing some more desk nametags today from @twinkl_ireland as I have two new children joining my class tomorrow. I like these ones for Infants classes as they are really clear, have a cursive alphabet along the bottom with both the upper and lower case, and the basic number line with colour coded odd and even numbers. I use Velcro to attach them to the tables so the kids can easily take them off to look closer at them or use them for specific lessons/activities. It also helps with keeping them attached to the table while also allowing for easy swaps when the kids move seats.

This might be one of my favourite books to read to the smallies. It tells the story of the big bad wolf getting tired of huffing and puffing to blow houses down, so he decides to try join a different fairytale instead. Each page of the book depicts a different fairytale and what happens when the wolf joins it. Cue lots of silliness and giggles from the kids! 🤩😂

Ever wondered what a student council is all about? Think of it as a team of students chosen by their classmates, coming together to represent the voice of their classmates in the running of the school. It’s like a mini-government for the school, where kids get to share their ideas, help make decisions, and even organise fun events. Being part of a student council teaches young people some very useful skills. They learn how to lead, work as a team, and speak up for what they believe in. It’s also a great way for students to get a taste of how democracy works in the real world. By voting for their representatives and maybe even running for a position themselves, kids get hands-on experience with the whole election process. The best part? A good student council can really make a school a better place for everyone. It’s all about giving students a say in their school life and helping them feel more connected to their school community.

With our new Student Council elections in a fortnight time, our new Student Council folder is all set and ready to go. 🤩 It has a calendar at the front for keeping track of all of our important dates and events for the year. It has a section for agendas for each meeting as well as the minutes and agreed upon actions. There’s a section for setting out goals and planning them step by step too.
